HMS L14

HMS "L14" was a British L class submarine built by Vickers, Barrow. She was laid down on 19 January 1917 and was commissioned on an unknown date.

HMS "L14" was one of the many group two L class submarines to be built as a minelayer carrying 16 mines. This meant that the two beam tubes had to be removed.

HMS "L14" was sold in May 1934 in Newport.

The periscope from "L14" is preserved at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum at Gosport.It may be the only surviving example of a WWI periscope. It was manufactured by Grubb & Co in 1918.
