List of Karate Organisations
- List of Karate Organisations
In the 20th century and into this century Karate has become more popular, and its practitioners becoming more numerous, have tended to factionalize and develop new allegiances. This has led to the creation of a plethora of Karate organisations claiming international, national and regional memberships. This article aims to list and organize the organizations into international, national and regional categories.
International associations are those that have member clubs or schools multiple countries and yield some administrative, political, or representative privileges to countries by way of voting rights, consultancy roles, or other, non-trivial roles.
National associations are those whose membership is contained completely in a single country or whose ruling body (head, board of directors, steering committee, executive council, senior management, or other similar body) is based in a single country.
Regional associations are those whose memberships are contained within a sub-division of a country or whose ruling body is based within that country sub-division.
