Għar Lapsi

Għar Lapsi

Għar Lapsi (Siġġiewi, Malta) is a small rocky inlet 1km south-west of the Blue Grotto. It lies below a stretch of Dingli Cliffs. It is a popular beauty spot and is used by a few fishermen. In summer, the inlet turns into natural swimming pool. The rocky shoreline here is perfect for snorkelling enthusiasts and the inlet makes a good entry point for divers. Local children take turns to dive into the deep water off the surrounding rocks. There are a few flat rocky ledges to perch a towel on, but no beach. Some of the caves double up as shade areas. The inlet is reached down a winding road from just outside Siġġiewi. The coastline here is ideal for walking in winter months and the cliff faces just inland from the coastline proper are excellent spots for rock climbing. There are some snack bars open during summer months in the boat houses, and a larger bar-restaurant open all year.

Għar Lapsi, in English means 'Ascension Cave'.
