José Ortiz Bernal, José Ortiz (born 4 August 1977 in Almería), is a Spanish footballer who currently plays for UD Almería of the Spanish first division, usually as a forward.

Football career

After serving an uneventful stint abroad, when he played one season with Italy's Ravenna Calcio, returning immediately to hometown UD Almería where he had previously played, Ortiz led the Andalusia outfit, as its captain, from the "Segunda División B" to "La Liga", where he played in 24 matches in 2007-08, mainly as a substitute.

Trivia

Ortiz is one of three Almería players with that surname, Mané and Juan Manuel Ortiz being the others.
