March 23 ,1982 inSakon Nakhon Province ) is aThai footballer . Raised inChonburi pronvince, he attended Assumption Sriracha school where his football career started. By continuously participating in local and regional tournaments, the skills of the 179 centimeters tall Goal keeper developed rapidly. In the year 2006, Kosin Hathairattanakool went to play for Indonesia's club-
Persib Bandung . Being there for six months, enabled him to learn new tactics and boosted his confidence before he came back to help Chonburi Football Club battle in the Thailand Premier League.Later in that year, along with the other national team members he participated in the prestigious Asian Games in Doha, Qatar. With great abilities but unfortunate luck, Kosin and the rest of the Thai national team were unable to withstand the host nation's team. Unfortunately, they were unable to make it into the finals but it was certain Kosin had come back with the desire to continue learning.
In December 2006, Thailand won the "37th King's Cup" tournament held in Suphachalasai Stadium. A few months later in February 2007, they became finalists to the
2007 ASEAN Football Championship held in Thailand. Kosin, the 1st seeded goal keeper for all the matches except the last 2 matches when the coaches gave the opportunity for a senior goalkeeper to play. Nevertheless, the ASEAN football championship still had its positives as it encouraged more Thais to once again be in support of the National team. The year 2007 can be marked as a great year in Kosin's sporting career. In July, Thailand were co-hosts of one of the most prestigious football event in Asia, the
2007 AFC Asian Cup . For the first time it was hosted in 4 different nations in South East Asia. (Malaysia ,Indonesia ,Thailand ,Vietnam )Kosin Hathairattanakool played all the matches for Thailand as they proudly hosted the Asian Cup in Bangkok. Battling Asia's best teams, Thailand were in group A with teams such as Australia, Iraq and Oman. The results of the event were good considering Thailandwere unseeded and had to battle with teams that had much more experience.
After the
2007 AFC Asian Cup , Kosin concentrated on helping Chonburi Football Club become the first provincial team to ever win the highest professional league of the country, theThailand Premier League . This year,Chonburi FC kicked off with a headstart, gathering many of the country's best youth players. Chonburi team were confident with their last barrier as they had the pride of having the national team degree goalkeeper taking care of its two posts for all of its games.By mid season, two of the three players of Thailand who were invited to train at
Manchester City Football Club were unable to play. But even without those two players,Chonburi FC had great determination to win. Their results throughout the season were excellent allowing them to finally become the champions of the 2007Thailand Premier League . With their victory, the team got their fair share of the Prize Money and Kosin Hathairattanakool, without any doubt got the Most Valuable Player award for the Goal Keeper position.Recognized in the team as a leader, an open hearted person and a player who many youth players admire and look up to, Kosin continues to set good samples for the next generation. Currently, (December 2007) he is a main help for the Thai national team to make it as far as possible in the qualifications of the next World Cup.
The year 2008 seems to be another busy year for Kosin in his football career as he also has to help his team battle in the AFC Champions League.
Chonburi FC will have to work hard as they will compete against leading teams from nations such as Australia and Japan. With his personal experiences and the lessons he will further learn in his career, it is unquestionable that Kosin is and will continue to be Thailand's best goalkeeper. Kosin's sharp and exceptional decision-making skills on the field, will further create great history for the Thai National Team.
