Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church (Providence, North Carolina)

The Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church is the oldest, continuous, African American congregation in the state of North Carolina.Fact|date=September 2007

On November 16, 1848, a group of believers assembled themselves together for the purpose of organizing a church. Under the leadership of Rev. Reuben Wilson, the group met somewhere in the vicinity of the present church in Providence, North Carolina.

The church began as a log building. These logs were used to make the floor of the wooden structure built in the early 1900s. In November 1954, members marched from the wooden building to its first brick edifice. The present church (renovation of brick building) was dedicated on November 20, 1988. The church is now planning a new facility. The present building will be preserved as a historical landmark.Fact|date=September 2007
