In 1983, the York County Council sold the hospital to American Medical International (AMI), the forerunner to the currentTenet Healthcare , and moved to a new facility at 222 South Herlong Avenue, between Constitution Boulevard and Heckle Boulevard and renamed the hospital Piedmont Medical Center.
