Hannagan Meadow, Arizona

Hannagan Meadow Lodge was established in 1926 due to the construction of U.S. Route 191, also known as the Coronado Trail Scenic Byway. The lodge offers numerous rental cabins, rooms for rent and a general store. At convert|9100|ft|m|0 elevation, the Lodge is the highest point in Arizona to be inhabited throughout the entire year.

It is named after Robert Hannagan, a Nevada miner and cattle rancher. Hannagan won a coin flip with Toles Cosper upon discovering the meadow during the 1870s. This was the second discovery as the area is believed to have been traveled by the explorer Coronado in the 1540s.
