J. C. P. Williams

J.C.P. Williams (born late 1930s) was a New Zealand cardiologist known for discovering what is now called Williams Syndrome in 1961, while working as the Registrar at Greenlane Hospital in Auckland. [ [http://www.whonamedit.com/doctor.cfm/56.html Whonamedit.com: J. C. P. Williams] ]

In the wake of his discovery, Williams was offered a position at the Mayo Clinic, but did not appear as scheduled. The second time he was offered the position, later in the 1960s, he also did not show, and disappeared leaving only a suitcase at a baggage claim in London.
