Reginald Turnbull

Reginald Turnbull

Reginald Turnbull (21 February 1908 - 2006) was an Australian politician.

He was a member of the Tasmanian parliament from 1946 to 1962 (1946-1959 for the Australian Labor Party, 1959-1962 as an Independent), then a Senator for Tasmania from 1962 until 1974. Though he was elected Senator each time as an Independent (the first Independent Senator in Australian history), he briefly served as leader of the Australia Party from August 1969 to January 1970.
