Patrick Scully worked at fabrik/Potsdam from August 2003 through June 2004 as director of internal communication and structure and long range planning.
Patrick Scully founded Patrick’s Cabaret in April 1986. He held all possible positions during his time there. He exited as the cabaret’s Artistic Director in October 2001, leaving behind a healthy performing art center committed to local artists.
He was a member of the National Performance Network (NPN) Steering Committee from 1995-1998.
From July 1988 through August 1991 he worked at the
Science Museum of Minnesota . His final position there was as Head of Visitor Programs, which included supervision of all museum theater programs, science demonstrations, volunteer presentations, and on-site school programming. He was the museum’s lead staff person in developing the Museum Magnet School for the St. Paul Public Schools. In his initial position he developed and coordinated the museum’s school outreach programs, Museum on the Move, and in the first year expanded the museum’s outreach to schools from an audience of 16,000 to 160,000.He was office manager for Remy Charlip’s International All Stars in New York City in 1984.
He was program director for the Twin Cities Young Audiences in 1982 and 1983.
As a member and co-founder of Contactworks Dance Collective from 1976-1980 his responsibilities included teaching, choreographing, performing and company bookings.
Patrick Scully has been a professional performer since 1976, and an independent performing artist since 1980. His performance at Dance Theater Workshop was included among the New York Times’ “Best Performances of the Year” in 1992. His work as the director of Patrick’s Cabaret was recognized in 1996 by a First Bank Sally Award for its vision, and by a 3M/United Arts Award for Excellence. In 1993 Skyway News inducted him into its arts registry for outstanding contributions to the Twin Cities Arts.
Patrick Scully has a BA from the University of Minnesota. He received his degree in 1976, with a double major in German and biology.
