The Hattiesburg Zoo is located among a grove of oak and pine trees in Kamper Park. The zoo takes up 12 acres of the 40 acre park. Upon entering the Zoo is a promenade that leads to the
Africa section; this area containsprairie dogs . TheAfrican veldt containsantelope ,monkey s,ostrich s,serval s andzebra s. In the South American exhibit area arecapybara s,iguana s,jaguar s,macaw s,howler monkey s,llama s,tapir s andtiger s. Down the tiger boardwalk one can get an up-close view of Americanalligator s. The park area has landscaped walking trails, grassy picnic areas, and playgrounds.Education
The new Zoo Education Center provides learning opportunities for school children,
Boy Scout s, Girl Scouts, adults and anyone else who would like to attend some of the offerings.Future plans
