- Treasury Committee
The House of Commons Treasury Committee (commonly 'Treasury Select Committee') is a select committee of the House of Commons in the
Parliament of the United Kingdom . The remit of the committee is to examine the expenditure, administration and policy ofHM Treasury , with all of its agencies and associated bodies, includingHM Revenue and Customs , theBank of England , theFinancial Services Authority , theRoyal Mint , and so on.Membership
Members are appointed by the full house on the nomination of the
Committee of Selection , and should be representative of the state of political parties in the House of Commons. Members receive an extra allowance on top of their salaries for select committee duties.The current members of the committee are:
