2001 UEFA Super Cup

The 2001 UEFA Super Cup was a football match played on 24 August, 2001, between FC Bayern Munich of Germany and Liverpool F.C. of England. Bayern gained their place in the final by winning the 2001 UEFA Champions League, whilst Liverpool, won the 2001 UEFA Cup to gain their place in the final. Liverpool were looking to win the UEFA Super Cup for the second time in their history, whilst Bayern Munich were looking to become the first German side to win the trophy.
