Tottenham Green

Tottenham Green is an urban ward within the Borough of Haringey, London, England.

According to the 2001 Census, the population of Tottenham Green is around 12,000, in around 5,500 homes. Around 2,900 homes do not own a car. Just under 2,000 of the population are Muslims [ [http://ukpollingreport.co.uk/guide/seat-profiles/tottenham?cp=4 ukpollingreport.co.uk » Tottenham ] ] .

Those living in the ward have a life expectancy seven years less than someone living in nearby HighgateFact|date=March 2007; the area has a significant and entrenched problem with guns, drugs, arson, burglaries and anti-social behaviourFact|date=March 2007. The area has a large new sports & leisure centre, and good transport connections.

The Government's "Indices of Deprivation" (2004) reported Tottenham Green to be among the top 20 per cent of deprived areas in England.
