It is well-known as being the first rock song to use avocoder , developed byEMI , to distort vocals. It is also one of the few songs by the band featuring the vocals ofAlan Parsons . The1987 reissue d version of the song contains aguitar solo at the end, during the "nevermore, nevermore, never" refrain.
