The 2011 Formula One season will be the 62nd FIA Formula One season.

Vehicle changes

Concerns over the environmental impact of the sport have prompted proposals to increase the use of biofuels, [cite news |first=Alan |last=Henry |authorlink=Alan Henry |title=Formula one seeking to go green with biofuels |url=http://sport.guardian.co.uk/motorsport/story/0,,2082475,00.html |work=The Guardian |date=2007-05-18] and other measures to increase the efficiency of engines and reduce emissions. These measures may include energy recovery from exhaust gases and engine coolant (supplementing the KERS regenerative braking system due to be introduced in the 2009 season), fuel flow metering, and the introduction of smaller turbo-supercharged engines. Calendar changes

The FIA has yet to confirm the calendar for 2011. Melbourne will retain the Australian Grand Prix until 2015 after signing a contract in July 2008. It is unlikely the Australian Grand Prix will become a night race as the start time for the race has only been moved back to 17:00 local time.
