Bryncroes is a hamlet in
Gwynedd ,Wales and lies on theLlŷn Peninsula approximately 2 km west ofSarn Mellteyrn . It was the scene of fierce protests between 1969 and 1972 when it was proposed to close the village school [cite web |url=http://www.penllyn.com/1/Hanes/bryncroes/ysgol.htm |title=Bryncroes |publisher=Penllyn.com |accessdate=2007-07-12] . However, the protests were in vain and the school closed and is now a villagecommunity centre .Near the school is a
well , which was used as a stopping-off point of thepilgrim s on their way to Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island ).References
