Suomenvedenpohja

Suomenvedenpohja (Finnish, meaning "The end of the Finnish Water" - referring to the Gulf of Finland) is an end of the Bay of Viipuri - The Vyborg Bay in present-day Russian Federation in the City of Vyborg in the Leningrad Oblast. The Bay of the Viipuri is itself a bay of the Gulf of Finland in Finnish Suomenlahti in the Baltic Sea. The Castle of Vyborg is located by it. Also the Park Monrepos is located by Suomenvedenpohja. The old 1856 opened Saimaa Canal began in Suomenvedenpohja. Before 1944 it was located in the city of Viipuri and in muncipality of Viipuri - Viipurin maalaiskunta in Finland
