Andrew Jones is a
visual artist from theUnited States . He has been working in the fields of concept art for movies and videogames, fashion design, bodypainting, illustration and digital performances. He started his career withGeorge Lucas atIndustrial Light and Magic , worked as the only North American concept artist for the Japanese gaming companyNintendo and became creative director for the entertainment development company Massive Black Inc, of which he is a founder. His latest work for Nintendo was designing the look for Dark Samus in in 2004.In 2002, Andrew Jones helped found a non-profit online art community, conceptart.org, along with Jason Manley and artists like Coro Kaufman, which has attracted more than 80,000 registered users and more than 1.3 million international visits per month.
He is known for making 1 self portrait everyday for 1000 days(from May 2002 to February 2005).
His Fine Art is inside The Shooting Gallery in
San Francisco and has work published in the Expose and D’Artist art books.In 2007, his art is featured on the cover of the annual "Spectrum" magazine - a selection of the best fantasy art.
He has worked with fashion designer Tiffa Novoa.
As of April 2007, he has started to perform digital live painting at concerts.
