- Knockharley cricket club
Knockharley Cricket Club was founded in
1982 and is the only Irish cricket club inCounty Meath competing in the [http://www.cricketeurope4.net/LEINSTER/index.shtml/ Leinster Cricket Union] . The LCU is one of four Irish provincial regions within theIrish Cricket Union .Knockharley's grounds are situated at Veldonstown, Brownstown close to
Navan in County Meath. The club moved from their old grounds in Ashfield, Beauparc County Meath in1996 . The old grounds at Ashfield were the host to many representative ladies matches, including an Inter-provincial in1993 between North Leinster and Ulster. In1995 the club also hosted an under 19 Ladies International match betweenIreland andDenmark which was held there as a follow-up to the LadiesEurope an Cup held earlier that year.The clubs most recent success came in
2006 when the 1st XI won the Middle 2 Leinster Cup defeating Mullingar at North Kildare.Currently Knockharley fields three competitive teams.
