Birtley Town F.C. are a football club based in Birtley, near Gateshead, England. In the 2006-07 season, they won the Wearside Football League title. As a result of their victory, they are promoted to the Northern League Division Two for the 2007-08 season, which is a level 6 league of the English football league system.

For the 2008-09 season, Birtley Town were drawn at home to Scarborough Athletic in the 2nd Qualifying Round of the FA Vase. This was a prestigious tie for the club, and a large attendance of 240 saw the visitors win the game 3-2.
