There have been two Baronetcies created for members of the Baring family, one in the
Baronetage of Great Britain and one in theBaronetage of the United Kingdom .The Baring Baronetcy, of the City of London, was created in the Baronetage of Great Britain on
29 May 1793 for the influential bankerFrancis Baring . For more information on this creation, see theBaron Northbrook .The Baring Baronetcy, of Nubia House on the Isle of Wight, was created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom on
4 February 1911 for the Liberal politicianGodfrey Baring . He was the son of Lieutenant-General Charles Baring, son ofHenry Bingham Baring , son of Henry Baring, third son of the first Baronet of the 1793 creation. Baring was succeeded by his eldest son, the second Baronet. He was a Major in theColdstream Guards . He died childless and was succeeded by his nephew, the third Baronet and (as of 2007) present holder of the title. As a descendant of the first Baronet of the 1793 creation, he is also in remainder to this baronetcy, a title held by his kinsmanFrancis Baring, 6th Baron Northbrook .Baring Baronets, of the City of London (1793)
