Kieran Murphy is a virtuoso guitarist hailing from Melbourne, Australia. Best known for his ability as a solo acoustic guitarist, he has been touring internationally since age 15. Kieran has a strong funk influence, and is also following one of his mentors, Michael Franti, in the development of the singer/songwriter aspect of his act.

Biography

Having released 4 albums, the latest, ‘PER SE’, gathered massive sales on recent tours to Japan and the USA. All tracks on ‘PER SE’ were composed, arranged and produced by Kieran. This album, more than previous releases, highlights Kieran’s ability to blend numerous genres into one entirely his own.Kieran’s technical and musical brilliance has caught the attention of other musical greats. Following rave reviews from his tour performances with Michael Franti & Spearhead in Australia, he was recently asked to perform with the group at the massive Bonarroo Music Festival in Tennessee USA, as well as the band’s NYC show at Nokia Theatre in Times Square.May '07 saw his break into the Japanese market, soon followed by his USA Summer '07 tour with Tommy Emmanuel, held to critical acclaim. November 2007 marked not only the continuation of touring in Japan to promote not only ‘PER SE’, but also Kieran’s inclusion on Sony Music Japan’s latest compilation release ‘Guitar Paradise’. March 2008 marked his sellout tour of Europe in some of the continents most prestigious classical theaters and philharmonics.
