Previously, he had a series of training stints in Portugal with
Benfica and Estrela de Amadora.Frias played his collegiate soccer at nearby
Mount Ida College inNewton, Massachusetts . He practiced with theNew England Revolution in 1999 for Walter Zenga but was not signed due to oblique surgery.Tony was signed by the Revolution on July 19, 2001. He was released on waivers on November 25, 2003, never having played for the team. He played for Lusitania in 2004.
