RECENT NEWS The Senior Boys Basketball team recently participated in the 2007-2008 'AAA' OFSAA provincials. They went to lose their first game 65-55 to Jean Vanier. However they turned things around in the next game crushing Governor Simcoe 70-49. The fighting Irish moved on to play a much tougher team, Catholic Central, and went on to easily beat them 56-43. In the final four, #4 ranked St.Pat's was up against #3 ranked Oakridge. Stellar play and teamwork proved that the Irish were there to win, the final score was 56-37 for St.Pats. In the Gold Metal Game, St.Pats were up against the #1 team Vaughan. With having the dynamic brother duo Nicholas Wiggins and Mitchell Wiggins, the Irish matched them up with their main key players: Greg Carter, Afeworki Gebrekerestos, Jesse Duodu and Jamael Babineau. By the half, the Irish had destroyed Vaughan leading 27-14. As fourth quarter approached, Nicholas Wiggins brought back Vaughan to trail by 5, 40-35. It came down to the wire, but the chemistry St.Pats had was too much for Vaughan. St.Pat's went to win 'AAA' OFSAA by one point, 63-62.External links
