icupdate =Matt Fouhy was an Irish sportsperson who played
hurling with the Cork senior inter-county team in the 1940s and 1950s.Fouhy first came to prominence with the Cork senior hurlers in the late 1940s. He first tasted success in 1948 when he won a
National Hurling League with Cork. By 1952 Fouhy was a member of the panel when Cork won the Munster Championship. Later he played a key role in the half-forward line when Cork defeated Dublin in the championship decider, giving Fouhy his first All-Ireland medal. He won a second National League medal at the start of 1953, before later collecting his first Munster title. This was converted into a second All-Ireland medal following Cork’s defeat of Galway in one of the dirtiest All-Ireland finals ever. In 1954 Fouhy won a second consecutive Munster medal before collecting a third successive All-Ireland medal.Teams
