Clifton F.C. is a semi-professional football club in Clifton, Nottingham, UK. The club was formed in 1963 as Thistledown Rovers, but the name was soon changed to the current name. The club's teams are also known as the All Whites, due to the colour of their kits. They currently play in the Nottinghamshire Senior League.
A number of well-known professional footballers have at one time played for Clifton. Amongst them are Garry Birtles (more famous for his time at Nottingham Forest and Manchester United), Keith Alexander (Grimsby Town and Lincoln City), Jermaine Jenas (Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur), Michael Johnson (Birmingham City), Darren Huckerby (Norwich City) , Richard Liburd (Notts County and Bradford City), Matt Redmile (Shrewsbury Town), Miles Addison (Derby County) and Jermaine Pennant[1] (Notts County, Arsenal, Birmingham City and Liverpool).
