Albert Howcroft

Albert Howcroft

Albert Howcroft (December 27, 1882 — March 7, 1955) was an English cricketer. Howcroft was a left-handed batsman who played for Derbyshire between 1908 and 1910. He wsa born in Cliffe and died in Belper.

Howcroft made his first two appearances during the 1908 season, his debut coming in a ten-wicket defeat at the hands of Surrey, in which he played well during the second innings, having been caught out in the first. His second appearance in the season came a week later, but he made little input.

While Howcroft spent a year out of the game, he came back to the fold in 1910, playing two games, his final first-class game coming in a victory against Leicestershire in which team-mates Ernest Needham and Leonard Oliver both scored first-innings centuries.

Howcroft was a lower-order batsman for the Derbyshire team.
