Stavrodromi (Greek, Modern: Σταυροδρόμι, Anciet/Katharevousa: -ον -"on" meaning the crossroads), older forms: -o and -on is a Greek village located south of Patras, west of Kalavryta, west-northwest of Tripoli and northeast of Pyrgos. The GR-33 (Patras - Tripoli) runs through the village. Stavrodromi had a 2001 population of was 254 for the village and 536 for the municipal district. Stavrodromoi serves as the seat of the municipality of Tritaia.

Geography

Stavrodromi is situated in the Chalandritsa-Fares Plain and are mainly made up of farmlands and a few forests. The mountains are to the western and the eastern prts. Mount Skollis is to the west and Mount Erymanthos is to the east. Its main production are fruits including watermelon, melon, figs and vegetables including corn, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, cucumbers and others as well as dairy, livestock, olives and others. The majority of the population are based in other businesses as well as agriculture.

Stavrodromoi has approximately 10 km of paved road and 15 to 20 km of gravel roads. Lousika also has approximately 10 km of hydro lines as well as phone lines.

Houses were stone-built until the 1950s and did not surpass modern-style homes until the 1980s. It was linked with pavement in the 1980s. Most of the homes are abandoned today.

After World War II and the Greek Civil War, much of the population left for larger towns and cities especially the nearby Patras. The population decline between the 1981 and the 1991 census, but it slowed the 1991 and the 2001 censuses.

Stavrodromoi has a school, a lyceum (middle school), a nearest school gymnasium (secondary school), a church, and a square ("plateia"). Its nearest hospital is the Agios Andreas Hospital in eastcentral Patras.
