- Law Terms Act 1830
The Law Terms Act 1830 (11 Geo. IV & 1 Will. IV c.70) was an Act of the
Parliament of the United Kingdom that made various changes to the court system ofEngland and Wales .The Act abolished the independent
jurisdiction of the courts of session of thecounties palatine of Chester, Lancaster and Durham. [Cornish & Clark (1989) "p."25] The Act is no longer in force though all quarter sessions were abolished by s.3 of theCourts Act 1971 and the Chancery jurisdiction of the counties palatine was abolished by s.41 of the same Act.References
