Miss Yvonne is a character from "
Pee-wee's Playhouse ", played byLynne Marie Stewart . The role was of a woman literally obsessed with being beautiful, even going as far as to say thatbeauty is her life and that beauty is her work. She often flirted withPee-wee Herman ,Ricardo, the World's Strongest Man , andCowboy Curtis , as well as several other men throughout the series. Miss Yvonne liked to go to Puppetland a lot, as she was given the prestigious title "the most beautifulwoman in Puppetland" by the puppet characters, especiallyMr. Window , who would usually introduce her before she came into the Playhouse door. Some of the character's trademarks were a big poofy mop of brown to orange hair (actually a wig over Stewart's real hair), herpoodle skirt dresses, and her theme music (played whenever she appeared in the show). She also appeared in "The Pee-wee Herman Show ", a precursor to "Pee-wee's Playhouse", but the character was given a much sexier undertone than in "Pee-wee's Playhouse".In the episode "Rebarella," it is revealed that Miss Yvonne was a charm school graduate.
In the episode "Playhouse in Outer Space", an alien version of the character named Yvona appeared, also played by Stewart. Also, one of the VHS video cases referred to her as '"Nurse" Yvonne'. This has created the notion that Miss Yvonne's name is really just Yvonne. In the episode "Love That Story" she gives her surname as "Tralala", and is dressed in a contemporary outfit reminiscent of a businesswoman.
Her name could be a play on the Avon brand of
makeup . She appeared in all 45 episodes of "Playhouse" in many incarnations.Physical appearance
Yvonne was usually seen with her now-trademark
bouffant hairdo and usually wearing high heels and a wide-skirted dress withpetticoat s and shoulder straps. In "Pee-wee Catches a Cold ", however, she wore a nurse's outfit, complete with nametag.Movie appearances
She is slated to make an appearance in the upcoming "Pee-wee's Playhouse" movie, but her wardrobe may undergo some changes to accommodate the fact that she will be in the real world and significantly older than how she looks in the show.
