Herbert Bowmer

Herbert Bowmer

Herbert Bowmer (July 4, 1891June 1, 1966) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler who played for Derbyshire between 1909 and 1911. Bowmer was born in Wirksworth.

Bowmer's first two matches for the team came during the 1909 County Championship - debuting against Essex in a heavy defeat. Bowmer would play just once more before taking a two-year break from the side, Derbyshire having finished 1909 second-bottom of the table. Their form during 1911 was even worse, picking up just two victories and finishing bottom of the table, while Bowmer was bowled out for no runs in his first innings and in his second for just one.

Bowmer would not play first-class cricket again beyond this point. He died at the age of 75 in Derby.
