In 1971, he was featured inUniversal Pictures 's movieHow to Frame a Figg staringDon Knotts .Bill was also the Father-in-law of
Bob Newhart . He is the father of Bob's wife, Virginia Quinn Newhart.Bill died at the age of 81 in Carmarillo, California of natural causes.
