Erwin "Jimmy" Hoffer (born April 14, 1987 in Baden bei Wien) is an Austrian footballer who plays for Rapid Vienna, the Austria U-20's and the Austria senior team.

Club career

Hoffer started his professional career at 17 with VfB Admira Wacker Mödling and moved to Rapid Wien after two seasons. He won the Austrian Football Bundesliga title with Rapid in the 2007/2008 season and scored a hattrick in their 7-0 victory against Red Bull Salzburg.

International career

During the U-20 World Cup in Canada, Hoffer shaved the name "Jimmy" into one side of his head after receiving that nickname from a coach. He was part of the Austrian squad that played at Euro 2008, a competition which Austria co-hosted along with Switzerland. The only match that Hoffer started in was their last group match against Germany in Vienna.
