- Paso de Los Patos
The Paso de Los Patos "(Passage of the Ducks)" is a mountain step between
Argentina andChile , used by theArmy of the Andes to cross the mountain range in 1817, in order to release to Chile of realistic hands. It is located to the interior ofPutaendo , town located to the north of the city ofSan Felipe ,Quinta Región ,Chile , and framed in the Imposing Valle de Los Patos Sur (Valley of Ducks South), to the SouthWest of theProvince of San Juan ,Argentina . With the name of Los Patos several passages of different denomination usually are indicated synthetically: the passages of Llaretas, Ortiz, the Honda and the Valle Hermoso.
