R&B group theSmall Faces the song managed to reach #36 in theUK Singles Charts .In March 1969 the Small Faces officially broke up, with
Steve Marriott going on to form Humble Pie withPeter Frampton andGreg Ridley .Andrew Loog Oldham almost immediately released an unofficial final song by the group called "Afterglow (Of Your Love)" an R&B ballad, with the contrasting rock sounding B-side "Wham Bam Thank You Mam".The band never publicised the single and so it only managed to reach #36 in the UK charts. The following November Immediate released a final unofficial album entitled "The Autumn Stone" it included many of their hits, including unreleased material and three live tracks recorded at
Newcastle City Hall . [small faces the young mods' forgotten story p.139]"Afterglow" was recorded at
Olympic Studios , London.Quiet Riot covered the song on their second album "Quiet Riot II " in 1978, andGreat White covered the song on their 1991 album "Hooked".ee also
