James Rector is the name of a number of individuals:

* James Rector (athlete) won the silver medal in the 100 metres at the 1908 Summer Olympics.
* James Rector (student) was a student killed in a May 1969 protest at People's Park in Berkeley, California, during a police crackdown which came to be called "Bloody Thursday".
