Liam Twomey (born 3 April 1967) is a medical doctor and Irish
Fine Gael politician. He is currently a member ofSeanad Éireann . He was aTeachta Dála for the Wexford constituency from 2002 to 2007. He was the Opposition Spokesperson for Health during the29th Dáil . However he lost his seat in the 2007 general election being eliminated after the 6th count. He was subsequently elected to the Seanad in July 2007 by the Cultural and Educational Panel.Liam Twomey was born in Bealad,
Clonakilty ,County Cork . He was educated at St. Finbarr's Seminary andTrinity College, Dublin , he is married to Dr Elizabeth O'Sullivan and they have three children.He worked as a
general practitioner before entering public office in 2002. Twomey ran as an Independent candidate in the Wexford constituency who highlighted the deficiencies in the Irish health service. He joined theFine Gael Party in the autumn of 2004 and was appointed toEnda Kenny 's Front Bench just over two weeks later.Before his election to
