Brinckmann wrote numerous books, among them several biographies (among other things about Efim Bogoljubow) and tournament reports. The functionary
Brinckmann worked considerably at the reestablishment of the German chess federation (FCB) - "Deutschen Schachbundes (DSB)" - in the post-war period also. From 1950 to 1967 he was a secretary of FCB. From 1953 to 1955 he took over the office of the tournament leader here, from 1962 to 1967 he was an arbitrator.
1966 appreciated its earnings/services with that of FCB "Golden honour needle of the German chess federation".
