Leonard Jackson (
April 8 ,1848 —March 21 ,1887 ) was an Englishcricket er. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm roundarm fast bowler who played for Derbyshire.Jackson's career started in 1875, when he appeared in a North of England/South of England fixture, as a last-minute replacement for opponent McIntyre, though his County representative debut came two years later when he played for Derbyshire against
Marylebone Cricket Club . The following year, he made two County appearances for Derbyshire, though he struggled at times with the bat and did not play any further matches until a recall four years later.Jackson was out of the team a year after his return, not being able to capitalize on a lack of batting strength for the Derbyshire team. Jackson also worked as a landlord with his wife and four children, and at the end of his cricketing career, focused on this and metal-grinding as his main occupations for the five years until his death. Jackson was born in
