Tim Vincent (born Timothy Russell Walker, 4 November 1972), is a Welsh actor and television presenter who is most famous for being a presenter on the popular children's programme "Blue Peter" between 1993 and 1997. His career has since broadened as a presenter and has presented several Miss World contests and is now based in the United States where he has presented some mainstream shows such as "Access Hollywood" and "Phenomenon ".

Biography

Vincent was born in Overton, Wrexham, Wales. He first took to acting at Theatr Clwyd, in nearby Mold. He has lived and worked in the United States for the past few years. In early 2008, Vincent is appearing in the television "talent" show 'Dancing On Ice' on the UK television channel ITV.

Career

Acting

His first television role was playing alcoholic teenager Billy-Bob "Meg" Ryan, in the ITV drama series "Children's Ward". Vincent also took to the stage in pantomime for several years, always playing the role of 'Dandini' in "Cinderella", at Southport, Torquay, Widnes and York, amongst others.

Presenting

Vincent is most famous for being a presenter on the popular children's programme "Blue Peter", which he joined on 16 December 1993. During his time on the show, he completed the New York Marathon, and traveled to South Africa. He left "Blue Peter" on 24 January 1997, having already featured in two series of the drama "Dangerfield" and began presenting "The Clothes Show".

Vincent presented "Blue Peter" together with John Leslie, Anthea Turner, Diane-Louise Jordan, Stuart Miles, Katy Hill and Romana D'Annunzio.

Since leaving "Blue Peter" and "Dangerfield", Vincent has presented "Short Change" and later presented "Fully Booked". From 2000 - 2001, he played vet Adam Forrester, in the soap opera "Emmerdale", and appeared in the film "Sorted" (alongside Tim Curry and Jason Donovan). He starred on the first series of the reality television series, "I'm Famous and Frightened!" as well as the popular "Sky One" series "There's Something About Miriam".

He is currently a reporter (as of 2007) on "Access Hollywood". In 2006, he hosted the pilots for GSN's revival of the game show "Chain Reaction" but he will not be hosting the series itself.

He presented the Miss World contest in 2005, 2006 and Miss USA in 2007. Then filled in for Meredith Vieira, for a week of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire", June 25 - 29, 2007. Shortly after Tim has also recently presented the National Lottery Draws on the BBC.

He is also currently the host of the NBC series "Phenomenon", which premiered October 24, 2007. He was saved from eviction from the third series of the UK celebrity ice skating contest "Dancing on Ice" on the vote-off on 20 January 2008, but was eliminated on 10 February 2008.
