Northridge earthquake the City of Fillmore purchased the building and though extensive fund raising by citizens in the Save the Towne Theatre Committee, as well as federal and state grants, such as those given by theState Historic Preservation Office , it was able to be restored (costing in excess of $1 million). It reopened in 1996 and currently plays the latest movies.tructure
This single-screen
theater was renovated in 1994, with new seats and carpet, as well as a live stage in order to restore itsvaudeville roots. It currently has a total of 325 seats: 280 seats on the main floor and an additional 45 on thebalcony that overlooks the stage.Promotions
Family Nights are a traditional part of Fillmore Towne Theatre providing cheaper
tickets as well asconcession stand deals. Occasionally, it promotes showings in order to reward certain programs. For instance,Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (film) was viewed free by Fillmore Middle School's Honor Roll students.
