John Mayhew (games)

John Mayhew from Plymouth, England was the champion of the 53rd British TV game show Countdown, the final series hosted by Richard Whiteley. The second seed, he beat Jon O'Neill in semi-finals and John Brackstone in the final. As mentioned on the show, he is also a keen and successful Scrabble player.
