MAM is an organization formed to promote Independent films from South Asia and to create cinema to inspire social change.
She Creates
Laadli and Mam Movies seek to get the point of view of the young girls if Mumbai and make them express their ideas and experiences through the medium of films. Professionals from the industry will be invited to give workshops to children on all aspects of filmmaking which includes writing, shooting and editing.
The aim of the event is to encourage girls to get into filmmaking and use it as a medium to express their thoughts and ideas and use it to make a difference in society. This intervention hopes to provide visibility to promote a positive image of the girl child among the community and also to question and challenge the traditional beliefs that promote son preference and create awareness about falling sex ratio and the pre-conception and pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques.
