Born in
Poole ,Dorset , her father was the localvicar . Hill has two siblings, a brother Simon who is older and a sister Naomi who is younger. She gained 9 'O' levels and 4 'A' Levels atSt. Edwards Church of England School inRomford ,Essex and before she started acting she worked in a record shop. Hill began her career in media by doing voluntary work in
Essex with EastWard hospital television, and then went on to present "Katy's Capers" onBBC Radio Essex , before transferring to "Nickelodeon". While working for BBC channel controllers and the Head of Children's Television, as a BBC secretary she bombarded the Editor of "Blue Peter" with ideas and showreels, which resulted in an audition.On
23 June 1995 , Hill joined the children's TV programme "Blue Peter ", becoming its 23rd presenter [BBC Cult: I love Blue Peter http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/classic/bluepeter/presenters/hill.shtml ] ; she left "Blue Peter" on19 June 2000 . (Initially, she was regarded as the 22nd presenter, but moved down a place whenAnita West was added to the official list of presenters in 1998.) Her assignments there included living inMongolia with a family for a week, training with the England football squad for a World Cup special, joining theCirque de Soleil and of course making things from yoghurt pots and sticky back plastic. Personal life
In the early stages of her career, Hill proclaimed herself as "the ultimate virgin", describing herself as "One of the few women to get married in white and was justified in doing so." Hill gained respect for preserving her virginity for "The One". Fronting the BBC’s children’s flagship show was the perfect vehicle to promote herself as a role model for young women. She finally married childhood sweetheart and record producer Andrew Frampton in 1999.
The marriage lasted two years before they split. Hill then sexed-up her image, appearing in men's mags such as
GQ andMaxim , bought aPorsche Boxster and began dating fellow "Live & Kicking" TV presenterTrey Farley . Hill became engaged to Farley after he proposed to her whilst on holiday inVenice , and the couple married inTuscany on28 June 2004 , with white highly in evidence.
