- Hally Pancer
Hally Pancer (b.1961) is an American
photographer , living inParis ,France . In 1988, after receiving her MFA atYale University , she moved from the United States to Israel where she was a professor of photography at theBezalel Academy of Art and Design . While in the region she completed a number of documentary photographic projects in an effort to influence public opinion in regard to the Middle East Peace process. Her project, Beyond Borders (1995-2001) was a landmark program where Israeli and Palestinian teenagers worked together in a framework of co-existence, using photography as a mediator. The fruits of this project has been exhibited in Belfast, Dublin, Yugoslavia, Kosovo, Jerusalem and Gaza, in addition to several cities in the United States and Europe. In 2001, after 13 years, she left Israel and moved to Paris where she currently lives with her husband and three children. She is now a professor atParsons School of Design , Paris and theÉcole Superieur de l'Art et Design in Amiens, France. Her work has been exhibited in theMuseum of Modern Art , NYC,The Israel Museum in Jerusalem , the Musée Jeu De Paume, Paris, and has been included in such collections as the Museum of Modern Art (NY) Biblioteque Nationale (Paris)The Yale University Archives , The Mokum Collection (Holland) in addition to private collections worldwide.
