Serlo de Burci

Serlo de Burci was a Norman of the eleventh century. After the Norman Conquest of England, he became a tenant-in-chief and major landowner in south-west England [ [http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.asp?compid=15109 High Ham | British History Online ] ] . His estate centred on Blagdon in Somerset [ [http://www.blagdon.org/blagdon/blag_about/history.htm www.blagdon.org ] ] . He is recorded in the Domesday Survey of 1086 [ [http://www.domesdaybook.co.uk/landowners.html "Domesday Book Online"] ] .

He is thought to have originated in Burcy, Calvados.

Family

His daughter and heiress Geva married twice, her second husband being William de Falaise [ [http://www.domesdaybook.co.uk/landownersd-f.html The Domesday Book Online - Landowners D-F ] ] . Robert FitzMartin was her son by a first marriage [ [http://www.geneajourney.com/martin.html Martin/Fitz Martin ] ] .
