website = http://www.briary.kent.sch.ukBriary Primary School - "previously named Briary County Primary School", founded in 1973, is a small school which resides in
Greenhill, Kent . The school teaches children from aged 4-11 theirPrimary education and prepares them forsecondary education . The school was one of the first schools to introduce thewalking bus program whereby a group of schoolchildren would be led to school by foot, accompanied by adults in an attempt to cut down on the amount of schoolchildren ferried to school via motorised transport. The site currently occupied by the school was previously a farm which is where the school adopted the Briary logo.In the Summer of 2007, long-serving
Headteacher , Martin Saffery left the school and was succeeded by his Deputy Head Ben Cooper.Uniform
Pre 1998, when Valerie Smith was Headmistress, the school uniform comprised of Grey jumpers/cardigans, dark trousers, dark shoes and a purple tie. The uniform was revamped post 1998 when Martyn Saffery became Headmaster. The children then wore purple jumpers, dark trousers, dark shoes and wearing the purple tie was made optional. During the Summer periods, Summer clothing was accepted. The girls would wear a purple and white chequered dress and the boys would replace their trousers with replica shorts. School caps are also made available to the students each branded with the school logo.
