- Zoopark
Zoopark ( _ru. Зоопарк) was one of the founding
rock group s which began theRussian rock movement. The group was founded in 1980 [ [http://www.mike-zoo.kiev.ua/hist/fr_hist.htm Zoopark:Istoriya (in Russian)] ] . It consisted ofMaik Naumenko and a varied group of artists. The first album recorded by Maik was "All Brothers and Sisters" withBoris Grebenshikov in1978 . They recorded on the banks of theNeva River in Leningrad (nowSaint Petersburg ) with a "choire" of homeless people playing percussion on metal cans. Maik Naumenko was a rock outcast, concentrating his work on electrified hard-core blues. His inspirations included American acts such as "T-Rex " and "B. B. King ". Maik died in 1991 [ [http://www.mike-zoo.kiev.ua/hist/fr_hist.htm Zoopark:Istoriya (in Russian)] ] , cutting his career short and relegating him to the pantheon of largely unknown Russian Rock artists. The influence of Zoopark is often overlooked by fans of Russian Rock, however, Zoopark remains the group of choice for the connoisseur of hard-core electric Russian Rock-N-Roll.Discography
